Parque de las Leyendas: HUGE ANIMAL PICSPAM PART I

So maybe some of you remember that last year I went to El Parque de las Leyendas (Park of Legends for you Spanish-challenged lj friends. You can watch that here.

I want again last sunday and while yes it took me this long to post this, I finally am doing it so YAY!
Anyway, lots of pictures so I will probably split this in two or three parts.

Ok...so we were five persons... manzanitabob, manzanitabob's viking bf, manzanitabob's littlest brother (for she has another little brother but he's older than the one we went with), Carolina (a friend of manzanitabob and me) and yours truly (duh).

First, a pic of manzanitabob and her bf and her littlest brother.



And now I have just realized I haven’t taken a single picture of Carolina… DAMN! I am such a bad friend ;____;

Ok, recriminations later:

And let's start with one of the few animals that have free reign in the part... TEH SQUIRREL!

Now the black swans! Aren't they beautiful?

And some lazy bear. I dislike cages but apparently the animals are taken care of. Still...



And now TEH REAL PICSPAM! Not really, but I think I got a little enthusiastic with TEH TIGER!!!



So sexy! And check this:



And I was that close to the young sexy tiger. And he even looked at me!



And then the lion. They weren't that good 'cause the lion kept moving a lot. So I just got profiles





But then the lion pissed on some people (which made us laugh and also step back a little) and I could take this picture



Now we saw some kind of baboons... excuse my ignorance :P





Once again, geek me, a picture of the severum fish because it's just a letter away from Severus :P

And now touching the animal life! Apparently manzanitabob's littlest brother thought we were in a Petting Zoo :P

And because I am a bad friend who didn't take pics of Carolina, I deserve to get eaten by a Nile crocodile:



I think I shouldn't look so happy about that... anyway... stay tuned! More tomorrow! :D

Wow. I'm really surprised by how close you could be to the big cats. I would think their paws could fit through the bars - reach out and swat at you if they wanted.

YAY!!!! Well, the lion's paw could not fit through the bars but the tiger certainly could... I am just this amazing as a photographer :P

In reality, there's a bar thingie between the cage and the public... So I just leaned over the bar and extended my hands (with the camera) until I had a nice shot of the big kittie and then took the picture. I took many pictures of animals that way, that you can see tomorrow :P

Wheee, the Tiger is rather handsome. Must have been fun to be right there (even if you might have had to sacrifice a hand or a camera to do it)

Oh, I didn't need to sacrifice much. Just be quick about it... while the tiger could swat the air very near the camera (a centimeter or so away), he couldn't get close to actually touch my hands or the camera. The bar is made so even the most obnoxious children (and daring girls with camera) won't get hurt by the big kittie even if they get too close... unless of course you are a total idiot and jump over the bars... then the tiger can certainly maul you through the bars :P

LOLZ, that's what most non-peruvian people tell me about tigers and lions... but I guess that's because they are in cages... I bet if they were in a nice and bigger habitat like the grizzly bear (which are quite far if you see my post tomorrow) they would be not so close...

Oh, the fox seemed mostly harmless :P He was this cute small thing just a bit bigger than a cocker spaniel :P

There were two of them and the other one just stayed away... but this one got close because apparently we were eating some ham sandwiches :P

What beautiful pictures! I noticed the black swans right away -- I saw some of them in Perth (Australia) and think they are gorgeous. The tiger has a compelling stare! That bear looks like I feel, after eating too much at our July 4th cookout. ;-)

I think I have some Patrick pics but I think it's better if we take new ones :p I didn't answer this before because my stalking boss was about to go on vacations... now my schedule kind of sucks :( I'll be free just on Friday and Saturday.. it'll start next week until 15th August :( so I think we have to wait for that trip or do you think we could go on Saturday?
